Treats FROM Co-Irkers

If you follow my blog regularly, you know that I love to bake treats and send them with hubby to work. I started doing this a few months back because I was finding my ever-expanding love of baking alarmingly adding to my ever-expanding waistline. One of the ladies in particular was nice enough to comment on my blog and she named herself Co-Irker. Thus the birth of "Treats For Co-Irkers," a weekly feature on my blog. I've enjoyed this exchange tremendously, and every week have had such fun from deciding what I was going to make to the actual baking and wrapping of each treat.

This week's garden explosion as well as an upcoming family reunion have left me pressed for time and I had mentioned to hubby that I didn't think I would be able to send treats in on Friday. He went to work yesterday and informed the gang of what was going on around here. Today when he came home for lunch, he brought me this:

I was touched to the point of being speechless! (and that does not happen very often.) The ladies in the office boxed up this lovely gift of wine, crackers, relish, zucchini and candy bars, complete with shredded office paper (nice touch ladies!) And then to really melt my heart, they wrote a poem and made a card for me:

And strict instructions:

Krishna, Andrea, Steph and Wendy.... thank you so very much for being so thoughtful. I will definitely be stopping by to meet this wonderful group that hubby works with. You're the best!

Sounds like something my hubby's office would do. :)

Kudos to you and to those lovely friends at 'his' office. ;)

Enjoy a day off, and enjoy a lifetime of memories with your family at the reunion.

I come to your blog to smile. I am NEVER disappointed. :)))))

If I'd have known how much you enjoyed bad poetry I could have made you smile everyday!

Seriously, don't thank us - we're thrilled that we could give you a small token of our appreciation.

We all hope you have a great time at the reunion. I know that whatever you're cooking will be a hit.

We'll be waiting with baited breath (yuck! - what exactly does baited breath smell like?) for your return to the spoiling of us.

Krishna: LOL@ baited breath! I never gave it a thought before but now I'm thinking fishy breath for some reason.
