Millionaire's Shortbread (Treats For Co-Irkers)

This week's Treats For Co-Irkers recipe came from another website (food blog) which shall remain nameless. I had intended to give that site full credit for the recipe, of course, but since I wasn't thrilled with the results, I didn't feel right recommending a recipe that I wasn't happy with. Don't get me wrong, these little millionaire shortbread bars are delicious enough, I just didn't think that the layers were proportionate and when I make these again, I'll post the recipe with my modifications. It'll work out perfectly with more shortbread, WAY less caramel, and a little more chocolate.

I hope you co-irkers have a cow handy, because these are going to make you want to kill for a glass of milk. Rich, rich, rich! Enjoy!

Geez louise Mags - there's someone you know in Tucson that LOVES caramel more than she loves shortbread, and way more than she likes chocolate. I'd say she'd think these little square beauties aren't cut way BIG enough - LOL Now...wouldja' just post the darn recipe?!!! I'm hurtin.

Okay - confession time.

I went on at 4:30am to check what we are having. I know, I know - I'm baddd. But, in my defense, if you didn't make such lucious treats I wouldn't be so nosey.

Anywhoo, I would never, ever, EVER criticize the manna that you make for us. But, I will say this - there's ALOT of caramel in there. And that's not neccesarily a bad thing, but I don't think that's what you were trying to achieve.

I will gallantly volunteer myself and my posse of coirkers to be your willing guinea pigs when you transform this recipe into the exquisite shortbread that it was meant to be.

Yes, I know, I'm a suck up and PROUD of it.

Thank you our charismatic caramel creatin' cutie.

LOVE your new banner!

It's funny just from the picture I was thinking WOH that's a LOT of caramel... guess it was! Still look tasty though :)

Chocolate, caramel and shortbread sounds like a fabulous combination. I'll look forward to the recipe update! Fun new banner!

June: I'll email you the link to the website, OK? I suppose true caramel fanatics might find this proportionate, but it just struck me as overpowering.

Co Irker: Do you guys have any undecayed teeth left after eating those? I almost didn't sent them in, but I thought, what the heck. It's either that or throw them in the trash.

Steph: The caramel was overwhelming!

Barbara: Thanks for commenting!

I know you didn't find them on my blog, because everything I make is perfect.

Moogie: You mean everything you buy at the bakery and then blog about is perfect. (HEE!)

Those look pretty tasty - although I love caramel (and lots of it). I look forward to seeing your version of the recipe, though! I'm sure it will be marvelous.
