And really, is there anything more beautiful than a plate full of bacon?I always use center-cut bacon which is similar in fat and calories to turkey bacon. (You can imagine how thrilled I was when I found out that little tidbit of information.) I preheat the oven to 375 degrees and line a baking sheet with non-stick aluminum foil. A 12-ounce package of bacon is then placed in a single layer of bacon strips and baked for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and drain on paper towels.
Then make yourself a big fat BLT. Because it's the right thing to do this time of year.

If you are fortunate enough to find a cooling rack that fits your baking sheet, try putting the bacon on that and starting from a cold oven.
Much less splatter, easy cleanup.
That lower-fat bacon brings me to my happy place, that's for sure. I still like the skillet though. Maybe because I'm using lower fat bacon? :)
random food styling fact: get the thick tin foil and bend into into ripples, then place bacon on it so the bacon is ripping up and down. Give the bacon an awesome look for photos :D ok that's my random for the day ;)
Hey... twin sister. This is the same way I do my bacon. No greasy mess on top of the stove.
Good tips from all of you! I feel much better now that I can buy center cut bacon and be a little healthier!
PS-I am on the other side of 50 too and life is good.
Thanks for the tip about center-cut bacon! I don't care how its cooked; bacon is the best, and the best thing to do with it is make a BLT, but for me, never on toast. Soft fresh bread only, please, and I'll follow you anywhere.
I'm one of those few people...what an easy and unsplattering(is that a word?)way to cook bacon! Thanks! That BLT looks mighty good!
(I see in your first comment to bake on a cooling rack on the baking sheet, another great idea!)
I haven't tried it in the oven. So easy and no splatters all over the stove.
Oh, I know. Once I discovered this method, I never went back to greasy stove top frying.
I've only baked bacon once and that was when I was making caramelized bacon (bacon coated in brown sugar, then baked YUM!) Baking bacon is a great tip when using a whole package. For a couple slices I like to use the microwave.
Love me some bacon! Great looking sandwich too Mags.
I love love love bacon!!!!
I make myself BLT's quite often. I also like baking the bacon.
Okay...I will. I will make one tonight. And I'll bake the bacon.
Haha, I just burst out loud reading your comment! :P You're hilarious!
That BLT looks perfect! My mom always made toasted tomato sandwiches but I prefer it with all the extra calories ;) YUM!
I think you may have written this post for me. Can you believe I have never baked bacon? I don't use bacon very often, but now I'm craving it.
Your BLT looks soo good!!! I love to Bake Bacon too!!
Beautiful bacon! I've never made it this way. We've kind of banned bacon from the house but I may have to give this one a try. My husband will be thrilled.
Great tip. Will definitely try it in the oven as I love bacon. I could go for a BLT right now. Have a wonderful day.
I've never tried baking bacon-and I could have done it yesterday as that's what I made too. A good ole BlT is hard to beat!
30 minutes in the oven? Can that be right?
Angela: That's how long I cook center cut bacon. I like it crispy. If you're using regular bacon or if it is thinner, you'll find it takes less time, 20-25 minutes.
